National Safe Child (NSC) seeks to protect the liberties and human rights of children taken from their safe parents or families unjustifiably. NSC uses the egregious cases from past and present to determine more effective methods of advancing children’s human rights.
Our work encompasses legal advocacy; local and national organizing; public policy development, and public awareness and education. NSC is actively involved in ongoing court challenges that show the removal of children from their loving and safe families, often providing litigation support. NSC engages in local and national organizing, creating media attention and public education efforts among the diverse communities that are stakeholders in these issues, including the families directly affected by punitive policies, and systemically failed agencies.
Our focus on the human rights of children and families by broadening and strengthening this progressive movement.
Many agencies established to protect children and their rights have instead created a “culture of fear.”
